Rooted - Privacy Policy

Hewnpath ("we", "us") built Rooted, an app that builds org charts inside Confluence and Jira. This policy explains, plainly, what Rooted does with your data: it keeps everything inside your own Atlassian site and sends nothing to us.

1. What Rooted collects

Nothing reaches us. Rooted does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your data to Hewnpath or to any third party. We run no backend server and no database of our own, and we do no analytics or tracking.

2. Where your chart data lives

The people, titles and layout choices you enter are saved using Atlassian Forge storage, which lives inside your own Atlassian cloud site. That data stays within your instance, under your control, and is never copied out to our systems. Rooted carries the "Runs on Atlassian" designation precisely because your data does not leave Atlassian.

3. No AI, no external services

The chart is produced by deterministic layout logic, not by an AI model or a remote service. Rooted makes no network calls to Hewnpath and uses no third parties for its features. Nothing about your content leaves Atlassian through Rooted.

4. The Atlassian platform

Rooted runs on Atlassian, and your use of Confluence and Jira is governed by Atlassian's own terms and privacy policy. Rooted stores and reads data only through Atlassian's official Forge APIs, within the permissions you approve on install. See Atlassian's privacy policy.

5. Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. The chart data lives in your Atlassian site, so you remove it by deleting the macro or uninstalling the app. If you have any question, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

6. Changes

We will update this policy if Rooted ever changes in a way that affects it, and revise the effective date above.
